6:15PM RUNNING INTERVALS WITH WIGAN PHOENIX: Wigan Phoenix are a local running club who cater for ALL ABILITY LEVELS. On Monday evenings, they have an interval session, meet 6:00pm at Thompson House Stables, on Pepper Lane, Standish.

The session has progressed to hill repeats and this is suitable for children. If you’re interested in taking children with you, email Ste Hilton at Wigan Tri Club or message through the HUB Facebook page.

6:30PM BAT RUN SERIES – Starts October 4th, free entry and route varies each week, generally 4 miles. You’d need trail shoes and a good head torch, route marked with reflective signs.

Group 1 = 5 miles at easier pace, ideal for novice or slower runners. If you are a slower runner who wants to run further than 5 miles, then you have the option of running further or running 2 laps of the route. It is likely that there will be others who wish to do the same each week. Route for this week is HERE

Group 2 = 10-13 miles at a steady pace. Please check the route or load it onto your phone using Strava. There’s no official leader so the group are collectively responsible for navigating successfully! Route for this week is HERE

Sunday:

8:00AM SUNDAY LONG RIDE: Meet 8:00am at the Stag in Orrell, there are 2 groups, group 1 will ride on average at 17-18 miles per hour, group 2 will ride at 16 miles per hour. It’s important that everyone checks and knows the route as there’s no official leader and everyone is collectively responsible. Download and add to Strava on your phone or to your GPS. Make sure you know where you are and have spares etc so you are self sufficient if you have mechanical issues. 6:40PM FOX & HOUNDS CYCLE RIDE – The Final Episode

The fox and hounds is a group ride, leaving TES at 6:40pm. There are 3 groups which are:

Rabbits (leave 6:40pm)
Foxes (leave 6:50pm)
Hounds (leave 6:55pm)

If you prefer not to ride this as a group then we encourage you to ride it solo as a time trial, simply turn up and use it as a cycle training opportunity! Solo riders should leave between 6:30pm – 6:40pm, the hounds will be chasing, so you need to try and stay ahead. All ability level are welcome, if you’re unsure about the route, please ask. 7:00PM EVENING CYCLE TIME TRIALS WITH SOUTHPORT CYCLING CLUB: Throughout the summer there is a Thursday evening 10 mile TT organised by Southport Cycling Club. The signing on is from 6:30pm and starts from 7:00pm. From May, this includes a 25 miles TT once per month. The start for the 10 mile TT is very close to the roundabout, where the Croston road meets the Tarleton – Preston road (we turn left on Fox & Hounds and this roundabout). Cycle time trials are a fantastic way of improving your cycling speed over shorter distances, you can see full details by GOING HERE.
